We now come to the fourth stage of the Va-Va-Va-Voom creative problem solving process. The three Va’s are targetted brainstorming to collect information, ideas and perspectives about a central issue or problem. Voom is the glue that makes the Va’s work. Voom is elaboration.

Originality
Creativity Motivator - Week #3
Besides having lots of ideas (fluency) and looking it from different angles (flexibility) there is also an element of risk-taking. That may involve doing something you have never done before or applying something you learned in a different situation. The third Va is originality.

Flexibility
Creativity Motivator, (1/13/08) by Kathy Goff EdD
Being creative takes courage. It takes courage to be a minority of one. Being different is an element of creativity. It is from differences that we find creative ideas and solutions. Another creative ability, and the second Va, is flexibility which involves processing information differently than the norm. Flexibility is the ability to abandon old ways of thinking and to initiate thinking in different directions. It is especially important when traditional, logical approaches fail to product satisfactory results.
