BrainSavvy Conserves Resources

April 16, 2009 Posted in Brain Savvy Classroom Edition | by Dr. Jamie McCracken

BrainSavvy conserves resources and is very economical to use because:
· A teacher needs only one BrainSavvy Learning Game for the entire class of up to 36 students.
· BrainSavvy is not consumable, because the gameboard is erasable and thus re-usable.
· It includes everything needed to play - sorting chips, special dice & brain magnets, instructions & dry erase markers.
· The gameboard itself is made of a high quality flexible magnetic material that should last for many years.
· BrainSavvy can be displayed for all to see while it’s being played, and then can be rolled up and stored in it’s tube when not in use, so it conserves storage space in the classroom.
· Playing BrainSavvy does not require the use of pencil & paper or any other consumable resource.
· BrainSavvy allows teachers to “watch” and “listen” to students, to find out what students know and don’t know, so BrainSavvy is an assessment tool for teachers, and this reduces the need for purchasing tests, and reduces time needed for grading papers.
· Using this teaching method reduces teacher stress due to the improvement in student’s behavior (anticipation of playing and because students are actively engaged in learning).
· BrainSavvy can be used with many classes at once, because the spaces are numbered, the teacher can jot down where teams were located, play with the next class, and then replace team brains to their original spot to continue the game.

Being Grounded in Creativity:

Creativity is vital to the process of turning knowledge into value. Creating a growth strategy is only possible when we evaluate opportunities with our hearts as well as our minds. In order to deal with these opportunities, we need grounding. That grounding best comes from knowing who we are and what we bring to the table.
