Whoopee!!!
Tried BrainSavvy today. It was fantastic. It was so easy to put up, used my own
questions. Kids stayed focused for 25 minutes (that’s a group of 10 boys, 3 girls!!). They listened to others and were very excited about the game and asked when we would play again. This is tremendous!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

BrainSavvy Game Picks Brain
By Cathy Spaulding
Phoenix Staff Writer
Hilldale Enrichment Program teacher Julia McEnulty said Brain Savvy is a way to make learning fun, though she said other educators should not call it a game. “It allows you to inject more fun and excitement into what they’re learning,”
McEnulty sometimes lets her players talk with teammates to get answers. Other times, she makes the players think for themselves. “I would say they like this better than getting on the computer,” McEnulty said. “It’s also great for at-home activities,”. “The possibilities are endless.”

BrainSavvy in Africa
Hello Jamie,
I am doing fine in Yaounde Cameroon West Africa. I gave Brainsavvy to my 2nd / 3rd grade teacher and she loves it. She has integrated it into her lessons. I am not surprised that given the varied cultures of our school that BrainSavvy is working to bring the students together in learning. BrainSavvy can be a fun way to play and learn at the same time. I will ask the teacher to give BrainSavvy to the 4th Grade teacher before the end of the school year. It is my plan to utilize BrainSavvy next school year in the middle school and then the high school.
Thanks for all that you do for our students even internationally.

School Counselor – Classroom Groups
The topic was responsibility. I divided the class into two teams and asked questions such as:
Name as many ways as you can that shows that you are being responsible at school.
Name as many ways as you can that shows that you are being responsible at home.
Name as many advantages as you can to being a responsible student.
Name as many disadvantages as can to being a student that is not responsible.
Name as many was as you can help you become more responsible.
The students loved the game. I even used it with first grade students and just simplified the questions.

P.E. Classes
I started using Brainsavvy with all of my physical education classes the first day of class. We used it to “sort” all my students for squad lines for permanent seating assignments. They loved picking their team names ie. Pink spidermonkees, blazing bananas, red hawks, and green tigers, to name a few. I will keep you posted.

Drug & Alcohol Program using BrainSavvy with Adults
“We use BrainSavvy with clients to brainstorm goals and steps to get to those goals
during treatment planning sessions. The counselors also use the game as an ice breaker to help get the thought process going”.

High School English
The high school kids really enjoy BrainSavvy. I like to throw in higher order thinking questions. The students have such a good time that it doesn’t always seem like “learning”.
Lance Pillstrom, RampUp* to English Teacher, Will Rogers High School, Tulsa, OK
* BrainSavvy was used as part of a research study. Preliminary research showed improvement in testscores for the classes that used BrainSavvy with their at risk students in the RampUp to English & Math Programs. Donations to this program were funded by QuikTrip.

  1. Wow!
I won a Brain Savvy Game at The Differentiated Instruction Conference in 2007. This is the first year that I have been able to use Brain Savvy in the classroom. My 1st Graders LOVE it! Great motivator and team-work builder!
